First off, a big Thank You to all the men and women who have served, along with all of those that we've lost, fighting for our freedoms. Our lives wouldn't be the same without all of the sacrifices made by our armed forces. We applaud you today, and every day.
Each year on Memorial Day, the downtown area of Everett hosts an amazing gathering of classic and just all around awesome cars. They close off about eight blocks in the city center for the event, with live music and plenty of food. Every street is lined with beautiful examples of classic automobile. The vast majority of the showing is American muscle, with a few imports making their way in as well. It's hard not to be in admiration of the hard work that must have gone into all of these extraordinary time machines of the eras past.
It turned out to be a gray sky day this year, with some scattered showers here and there. Nonetheless, the event went on. Something you learn in the PNW, if you plan an outdoors event, you better be prepared to deal with adverse weather. If these lot weren't afraid to bring their labors of love out in the rain, we wouldn't let it stop us either. So we went out and had a good time and made our passes. The most difficult thing was watching Jack get so excited about the cars and then trying to keep him from touching all of them. But he made a couple new friends while we were there and behaved himself pretty well. This kid's on his way to being a top-notch gear head!
On to the pics. Since there's no way I'd be able to note the details of every car we saw, I'll just roll them on out, and say no more.
Looking forward to next year!
