I've been looking forward to this drive since I got the Phaeton last summer. As far as I know, it's just about the biggest yearly German car gathering and drive in the state of Washington. This year the spotlight charity was Children's Hospital in Seattle. It all starts at Bellevue Community College and ends in the perfect location. Leavenworth, a little Bavarian town nestled deep in the Cascade Mountain Range. All of the architecture is done in traditional German styling, and many of the local people and foods follow suite. It's a little over two hours away from Seattle, yet it feels like the other side of the world.
We got to BCC a little late and only had about twenty minutes to walk around before it was time to saddle up and ride out. My guess would be that there were in excess of three hundred cars this year, so the ride out there was pretty slow until we got through Sultan. I decided not to make my lovely wife hang out the window with the camera on the way there to snap rolling pics, but maybe next year. I did manage to get quite a few strolling through the town after we arrived. Thanks to Leavenworth for having us. Enjoy!
